D358 Carbide Black Magic VA Drill
The Black Magic VA range of carbide drills provide the best solution for reliable production of high volume hole making in stainless steel. Acheiving accurate holes with long tool life is due to the low wear, thrust and stable cutting action. Sutton Tools VA Carbide drills are the ideal choice for the toughest of applications.
Tool Design
Sutton’s Carbide VA Drill range for stainless steel has been designed with the 4 key elements in mind when aiming for maxmum tool life and hole accuracy:
1. Geometry – 30º Helix with special optimised flute core and ‘S’ type point gash.
2. Internal Coolant Supply – Ensuring sufficient coolant supply to the cutting edges.
3. Micro Geometry – Specially developed edges profile for stainless steel.
4. Coating – Helica Wear at the main cutting edge and margin is markedly reduced in comparison with conventional coatings. The outstanding oxidation resistance and hot hardness of the coating also contribute greatly to stability at the severely loaded cutting edge corners, while the improved toughness of the multilayer structure significantly reduces
the tendency towards cracking.
The extra-smooth surfaces of BALINIT® HELICA-coated drills mean smooth, reliable chip evacuation from the entire hole – a must if you want to exploit the full potential of your drills.
